How to open a Facebook link in the app

Why Facebook links may open in a browser
Facebook URL handling differs by browser and app version. Android can request the Facebook package for an HTTPS destination, while other cases may rely on Facebook’s own universal-link behavior.
Important: A web page cannot override every browser or operating-system security rule. App installation, device settings, browser behavior and the destination service ultimately determine whether a native app opens.
Tips for reliable Facebook app links
- Use the public Share → Copy link URL.
- Content privacy settings are not changed by the opener.
- Test campaign links inside the exact messaging/social apps your audience uses.
App opener vs normal link
A normal HTTPS link is universally compatible but may stay in a browser. An app opener adds a native-app attempt before the web fallback. This is useful when the best experience—playback, navigation, messaging, saved content or logged-in state—lives inside the installed app.
